During October 2018, PAMECA V organized several informative events in support to the Social Service-School-Police Partnership model with First Line Officers of Community Policing Sections of Commissariat no 2 and no 5 and with groups of pupils of Ninth Grade Schools in Tirana.
In the first stage, three schools were selected in different areas in collaboration with the two Police Commissariats based on their police zone divisions. PAMECA V and First-Line Police Officers introduced to the pupils the basic principles of community policing and the role of officers working in uniforms and in civil dresses. Pupils were explained the concept of mutual collaboration between community and police to identify and tackle ahead the challenges and concerns of community zones.
In a second stage, with the collaboration of the school Headmasters and their Art teachers, the pupils were engaged in recreational activities and prepared several drawings under the theme “The Police in My Eyes”. Pupils showed enthusiasm and engaged in drawings representing different realities of their community where police intervened. The police service was most of the time represented in helping people in need and supervising on public order and crime scenes. Women police officers were largely represented as heroines and brave officers. Overall, the activity and the presence of first-line officers resulted as very friendly for pupils and they were showing respectful attitudes.
Finally, pupils` creative artworks will be gathered in the PAMECA V 2019 wall calendar to be distributed to all counterparts and project`s beneficiaries. This initiative will serve as a follow-up of the awareness raising campaign and to support the visibility and communication plan of PAMECA V.
