In the framework of PAMECA V sub-activity 1.2.18 “Regional workshops in proactive investigation techniques” Junior Organised Crime Expert organised a local workshop at the premises of Diber Local Police Directorate on October 11th. This workshop was attended by thirteen crime investigation specialists and chiefs of sections who currently work at Diber Local Police Directorate and the three Commissariats in its subordination.
Definitions of what constitutes organised crimes, types of criminal networks and the activities of organised crime groups were introduced and interactively discussed. During this workshop session, practices relating to proactive investigation techniques for combating organised crime were presented. These techniques were illustrated with the best European practices through reviewing several concrete successfully prosecuted cases, aiming at encouraging the application of specific investigation methods and enhancing cooperation among law enforcement agencies.
