On May 28th 2019, PAMECA V organized the second regional workshop on proactive investigation techniques using a case-study approach and interceptions in drug trafficking offences. The first workshop was delivered to Judicial Police Officers of the Local Police Directorates of Tirana, Elbasan, Durres and Korça, while the second one was attended by 15 Judicial Police Officers working for the Vlora, Gjirokastra, Berat and Fier LPDs.
The content of this program focused on the criminal justice response against organized crime, including special investigative techniques, organization and management of the investigation process, investigative team composition and the adequate procedures for cooperation with international police structures, necessary to tackle organized crime with international ramifications. A concrete case on illicit transnational drugs trafficking served to illustrate the investigative techniques used and practices applied.
The objective of this activity was to upgrade the JPOs’ competencies in order for them to better respond against organized crime, to prevent, investigate and tackle national and international organised crime activities.
