Regional Training on Trafficking in Human Beings and Smuggling of People

Trafficking in Human Beings and Smuggling of People  was the topic of today’s Regional Training organized by PAMECA V held in Saranda, with the participation of prosecutors and judicial police officers from Saranda, Gjirokaster and Vlora. The training was moderated by Prosecutor LTE Mr. Carmine Pirozzoli.

The experts elaborated on the best practices and standards in the investigation, coordination and management of Traficking in Human Beings crimes alongside modalities of operation of criminal organizations which deal with trafficking in human beings as well as smuggling. The experts pointed out the importance of coordination of investigative activities of different districts, the ability of criminal organizations to adjust in front of legal obstacles, importance of a trustful relation which needs to be build with the victim for better results , the victim’s rights including assistance through different mechanisms and compensation.

The representative of Vatra shelter Ms. Brikena Puka, spoke on the rehabilitation and reintegration process of the victims of trafficking by giving examples of the services offered, such as: basic education, vocational training, mediation for employment, temporary accommodation, legal and psychological assistance.

PAMECA V aims to provide unified knowledge to regional prosecutors and judicial police officers who will be in charge of leading the investigation on Trafficking in Human Beings offences.
