PAMECA V co-supported the Third International Scientific Conference on “Computer Crime, Cybercrime and National Security”

On 21 November 2018, PAMECA V supported the Security Academy in the organization of the Third International Scientific Conference on “Computer Crime, Cybercrime and National Security”. The Seminar was held at the premises of Security Academy and was also supported by OSCE, NATO, IPA Project 2017 “Countering Serious Crimes in Western Balkans”.

The Minister of Interior, Mr Sandër Lleshaj delivered the opening remarks calling for the drafting of a National strategy on Cyber Security as main tool to determine the objectives, methodology and the necessary sources to tackle this huge threat for Albania.

PAMECA V Team Leader Carlo D’Achille underlined the importance of training in this area to follow up with technological development and improve the international cooperation to fight against this transnational crime by its nature

The Conference, has seen the participation of around 80 contributors aimed at tackling the main issues that national and international agencies face in their daily work, considering the current importance and prevalence of “Computer Crimes” phenomenon on a global scale. The other very important achievement obtained through this conference was the collection in 2 books with all the papers presented in the conference that will serve as training material at the academy and at the disposal of any other national institution.

PAMECA V, since the beginning of its mandate, devoted particular attention to this topic organizing training seminars on Cybercrime and international cooperation related to cybercrimes in strong cooperation with Albanian State Police and General Prosecution Office. PAMECA V will support the Law Enforcement Agencies to meet their needs and priorities aiming to improve their capacities in meeting their objectives of tackling serious crime, organised crime and any other crime, including cybercrime, in a proactive manner, – was stated by the Team Leader, Mr D`Achille, in the Conference.

In addition, PAMECA project expresses its support to the future needs of the Security Academy and was pleased to contribute and co-sponsored the organization of this important event.
