PAMECA IV holds its 4th Steering Committee Meeting
A strong and well-established partnership with the beneficiaries to provide trust, safety and a secure environment for the Albanian citizens
On 3 June 2015, PAMECA IV held its Fourth Stakeholders’ Committee co-chaired by PAMECA IV Team Leader, Mr Butini, the Director of the Albanian State Police, Mr Haki Çako and Mr. Kosta Beluri, Director of Task Force Directorate at the General Prosecutor’s Office.
The fourth Steering Committee meeting of PAMECA IV took place at the premises of the Ministry of Justice. This meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Albanian State Police, General Prosecutor’s Office, Embassy of the Republic of Italy, Delegation of European Union to Albania (EUD), EURALIUS IV and other secondary beneficiary institutions and projects.
The Steering Committee is the steering body of the project in charge of verifying the achievement of the outputs and results and discussing actions to be undertaken, approving the semi-annual work plans as well as recommending and approving modifications to the progress of the project and the work plan.
Mr Butini, the PAMECA IV Team Leader gave an overview of the activities of the Project in all its six intervention areas as per WP of Semester 3, highlighting the main achievements as well as the main deterring factors to the conduct of the activities, which were not many and were for the most part coped with and overcome. Steady progress over the six Components was made. A lot of activities have been implemented according to the Work Plan. The implementation of the activities was achieved by combining strategic approach, operational approach, workshops and trainings. Being in its second year of operation, with more than half of the project time elapsed, Mr Butini dwelled more on the upcoming challenges and the ways to tackle them, that is the approach to be employed and the activities planned in the upcoming work plan. Having been running for two years now, PAMECA IV has become a strong and well-established partnership with the beneficiaries to provide trust, safety and a secure environment for to the Albanian citizens.
After being rated as a flagship project for its professional assistance in achieving the required standards in the area of JHA, PAMECA IV is also being considered as a docking station for other projects assisting Albania in the area of justice and home affairs.
The excellent work of the project was once again acknowledged by the Representative of the EUD, Mr Claus Lech, Head of the Operations, talking also on behalf of the Ambassador of EU to Albania Ms Vlahutin, who considered PAMECA IV a facility in its assistance provided to the ASP, GPO and the overall management of the MoIA.
Mr Çako, the Director of the ASP congratulated the Team Leader and the staff of PAMECA IV for their endless contribution to the Albanian law enforcement authorities. He highlighted the fact that what PAMECA IV is doing is in line with the priorities, objectives and the agenda of the Albanian State Police.
The fourth Stakeholders’ Committee Meeting approved the Work Plan for the fourth semester March 2015 – August 2015.
