On 12 and 13 December 2018, PAMECA V organised a two-day training on “Women in Leadership” for Police Officers of Albanian State Police.
The opening remarks were delivered by PAMECA V Team Leader, Mr Carlo D’Achille, the Albanian State Police Human Resources Director, Mr Nikollë Rica, the Dean of the Faculty of Security and Investigation, Mr Ilirjan Mandro, and the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, Mr Robert Gajda. Various presentations were also delivered and by the Expert from the Portuguese Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security, Ms Lucia Pais, and by representatives of the Sector for Gender Equality at Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) in Albania.
The main topics of the training were the challenges and obstacles of leadership in the Police, explained both in theory and in practice through personal experiences by high level police officers.
PAMECA V Team Leader underlined the importance of progress of women representation at senior level in Police structures. Thus, PAMECA is highly committed to take this topic forward and further develop it in order to support Albanian State Police in promoting women in leadership.
