Trainings for police employees in the regional organized crime structures, completed

In the framework Component 2, Activity 2.2 and 2.4 dealing with investigations on organized crime and support to judicial police officers, PAMECA IV concluded the planned round of regional trainings on two training modules: Criminal Acts with Explosives and Proactive Investigations on THB. Four short term experts were deployed for the training of a total of 157 police employees of OC structures from March-May 2015.

The two training topics were indicated by the ASP as priority topics and the purpose of these training sessions was to provide the same level of training for police officers in different regions in order to harmonize their working methods.

The training on Criminal Acts with Explosives was designed in two parts, a theoretical part and a practical exercise. The theoretical part was delivered through interactive power-point presentations serving as basis for exchange of experiences among participants and for expressing their specific knowledge needs for further technical information such as for example the design of Improvised Explosive Device triggered by mobile phone.

The training on proactive investigations on the trafficking of human beings, focused both on practical examples from real investigations and also on the multi-faceted phenomenon of trafficking, including issues like prevention of criminality, protection of victims and prosecution of traffickers, links to organized crime and forms of exploitation.
