PAMECA V facilitated the organization of a virtual meeting between the Head of SPAK, Mr Arben Kraja and Director of NBI, Mrs Aida Hajnaj with the National Antimafia and Antiterrorism Directorate represented by the Italian National Prosecutor, Dr. Federico Cafiero de Raho. The meeting was also attended by Italian Regional Prosecutors and Albanian Prosecutors of the SPO.

The event, which took place on 11.11.2020, aimed at presenting the best practices of the Italian experience and exchange of experiences during the cooperation activities in relation to the Joint Investigation Teams.

Dr. De Raho who emphasized the good cooperation in this regard, mentioned the elevated number of cases which have been articulated by several Regional Prosecutors in cooperation with different Italian Police Forces. The National Prosecutor waits for the NBI to be fully operational and cooperate with the SPO and its Judicial Police.

On the other side, Mr Arben Kraja, after briefly presenting SPAK, stated that the main priority of the institution so far, is the consolidation of the international cooperation against the organized crime. Mr Kraja, appreciated the cooperation with Italian structures since SPAK establishment, which has provided successful results, and hopes to proceed with the same intensity in the future.

In view of international cooperation, finalization and ongoing investigations on different cases has also been conducted with the support of two additional organizations, EUROPOL and EUROJUST.

The meeting was a good opportunity to also share some learned lessons from different investigations.
